EmVoice is a vocal synthesizer, that is available as a DAW plugin. I am often using their two voices, Lucy and Jay as support in my production process when collaborating with artists. It comes in handy to demonstrate ideas that I have for melodies or backing vocal parts.
When I need a break from production work, I love to get creative with the plugin, and see what I can achieve on pushing it to sound as human as possible. Of course, the idea is never to replace a real singer - I can't see why anyone would want to do that. But, even though it is hard work to get the voices to sound realistic, it is good fun. Actually, I've been told that some of my work is quite impressive. One of my clips are actually demo'd in the company's play list for the Lucy voice 😎
